NOTE: SENTRY MODE STRUGGLES IN LOW LIGHT

How Sentry Mode Works

Sentry Mode operates in three main stages based on detected threats:

Standby Mode (Monitoring)

The car continuously monitors its surroundings using built-in cameras.

Alert Mode (Threat Detected)

If someone lingers too close, the screen displays a warning: "Recording in Progress".

Alarm Mode (Threat Confirmed)

In case of break-in or impact, the alarm blares, lights flash, and a notification is sent to the Tesla app. It's important not to break any glass to avoid detection

Tesla Camera Locations by Model

Each Tesla model comes equipped with multiple cameras for Autopilot and Sentry Mode. Here are the general locations:

  • Front Camera: Located at the top of the windshield.
  • Side Cameras: Positioned on the front fenders and side mirrors.
  • Rear Camera: Above the license plate.
  • Interior Camera: Found near the rearview mirror (for driver monitoring).

Exact locations may vary slightly between models, but these general placements remain consistent.
